Photoshoot Collaboration with Pacific Island Artist Emily Mafile'o

Last week we were lucky enough to have Tongan artist Emily Mafile'o photograph some items from our upcoming Summer 2016 collection.

It was amazing to see MENA come to life through someone else's creative vision.

Here are only a few of our favourite shots from the day.

Samoa Fashion Week 2016

Putting pacific fashion on the map

Last month, 12 - 17 September, our beautiful Pacific Island nation of Samoa held its first Samoa Fashion Week. This was organised by the Samoa Arts Council (S.A.C) in collaboration with the Pacific Runway Fashion Show in Sydney Australia.

Our label MENA was established in Samoa back in 2001 and although we have done NZ Fashion Week, Fiji Fashion Week and various trade fashion shows over the years we are really delighted that Samoa has now set up its on home based event to showcase our fabulous and talented local talent.

Here are some of the photos of the MENA catwalk from the night.

Dressing up in a Jumpsuit!

MENA Phaedra Jumpsuit

The jumpsuit has made a fantastic comeback in recent seasons and its not going away anytime soon. So trade in your dress for a jumpsuit for your next special occasion. There are a great variety of cuts and styles out that will flatter any body size or shape. We decided to do a jumpsuit this season and we think you'll love our Phaedra Jumpsuit with its gorgeous cowl neck feature teamed with a tropical palm print. Perfect for that Spring/Summer wedding you may have coming up or make a statement on your next night our celebrating with friends.

MENA is a family clothing business that started in Samoa in 2002. The owners/designers are Mena Loheni and her four daughters Agnes, Jackie, Gina and Charlene.

We are passionate about our business because it ties in everything that we love under one roof - fashion, culture, colour, heritage and of course family!

We will use this blog to share our thoughts and inspirations behind what we do. We started off making Samoan dresses and Puletasi (two-piece garments). We are now well known for our resortwear, cocktail and evening dresses in our signature pacific prints.

Do check in with us regularly as we share with you some of the wonderful people, events and experiences we come across in our MENA world.
